BY: Raul Plata, Jr. | 04/20/26

Payroll professionals operate in a world where precision, compliance, and constant change intersect—and where even minor errors can have major consequences. That is why education has been foundational to PayrollOrg’s more than four decades of dedicated service to payroll professionals everywhere.

Initially formed as the American Payroll Association in 1982, this organization has grown with its members every step of the way. Now as PayrollOrg, your organization supports you at every stage of your career—whether that be domestically or globally—with timely insights, high-quality education, and a community designed to help you excel with confidence.

Compliance Resources

PayrollOrg keeps its members ahead of breaking payroll news with Compliance Updates, emailed and posted online, as well as the option to subscribe at Payroll.org/PNN to have an electronic Pay News Now digest delivered directly to your inbox as often as you prefer. These alerts from our team of experts help you understand changes that directly impact your payroll operations—such as federal and state tax updates or new wage and hour guidance.

Members also receive the monthly Payroll Currently eNewsletter on the Bookshelf, which provides deeper analysis, including the widely-followed “Inside Washington” feature from PayrollOrg’s Government Relations team. Key highlights from this newsletter are also shared through the following PAYTECH columns: Payroll Points, Benefits Briefs, and Government Corner.

Use the Resource Library to find government forms and publications, links to federal, state, and local agency websites, and more.

Educational Resources

PayrollOrg offers plenty of educational programs and resources throughout the year—many of which count toward your Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) recertification. Topics include preparing for year-end, multi-state taxation, payroll analytics, electronic payment updates, and other emerging payroll issues. Certification programs come with a digital badge upon completion.

Members also gain access to complimentary webinars and eBooks such as Top Payroll Questions & Answers, Guide to Successful Electronic Payments, and the Payroll Industry Report. These resources offer practical solutions to common challenges and provide valuable benchmarking data.

In addition, members can apply to receive PayrollOrg Payroll Education Grants to help further their educational and professional growth.
